This 1-day master-class introduces NVivo, and takes researchers through the process of sorting and organise literature and notes from readings in a systematic way. NVivo can be a powerful tool to help you conduct your literature review in an effective and efficient way.

Dr Anuja Cabraal is an experienced qualitative researcher, and a global certified platinum trainer of NVivo. Dr Cabraal has close to 20 years of research experience, has been a trainer for over a decade, and has taught qualitative research methods at both an undergraduate and postgraduate level. They have worked and consulted on projects in a wide variety of sectors including, Royal Commissions, Not-For-Profit, Business, Government, Higher Education as well as across a variety of disciplines including, (but not limited to), business, sociology, development, architecture, law and learning and teaching.

About this course: 

NVivo can be a powerful tool to help you conduct your literature review in an effective and efficient way. This workshop introduces NVivo, and takes researchers through the process of sorting and organise literature and notes from readings in a systematic way.

 

The workshop is relevant to researchers at all stages and across all disciplines. No prior knowledge of NVivo is necessary in order to attend the class. It starts from the very basics of the software. 

Course syllabus: 

 

  • Importing material from Endnote
  • Importing material from the internet
  • Taking notes in NVivo
  • Use search features in NVivo such as text search (including your PDF’s and notes)
  • Sorting and structuring you literature and notes using NVivo
  • Manage reading lists and references in NVivo

 

By the end of the workshop attendees will:

  • Have a basic understanding on how to use NVivo
  • How to get the most out of their literature using NVivo

This workshop will take place online via Zoom. All material will be provided.

 

You will need to have NVivo installed on your computer prior to the session. It is recommended that you try and install it at least 2 or three days before the session.
